In its capacity as a start-up centre, the Innovation Centre for Medical Technology and Pharmaceuticals
(IZMP) aims to help innovative start-up companies to develop their ideas and to prepare the products for
launching on the market. Such start-ups receive intensive support from the Betriebsgesellschaft of the IZMP
(operating company) and the Campus Coach, Mr Günter Frankenne.
The main focus of the IZMP's attention is on finding joint marketing strategies, initiating joint
projects, supporting interdisciplinary communication over and beyond specialist journals and making use of
synergies in the development and marketing of products.
The firms are able to take advantage of free consultations with the Campus Coach. Such consultations
provide company-specific advice with regard to corporate structure, organisation, staff planning, financing
and marketing.
In addition to this, by carrying out joint actions and appearing together at specialist fairs, the IZMP
companies are able to present themselves in a professional way. They are thus in a position to make their
products known and achieve marketing effects which go beyond each company's own advertising measures.
The IZMP acts as a catalyst to the advantage of local companies, makes it easier to establish contact
and exchange information and helps the start-up firms to avoid unnecessary 'beginners' mistakes. Experienced
companies and consultant agencies co-operate at the IZMP to round off the overall support given to the
start-up firms.
